Grey powder with specific gravity of 6.6-6.8. Melting point is 1990℃. It dissolves in sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid and Nitric acid, not in water and liquid ammonia. It turns to nickel trioxide when heated to 400℃and return to nickel oxide at 600℃.
